Artists that are ''not'' Duplicates

There are cases where two different artists have very similar names (or even the same name, see IdenticallyNamedArtists). In these cases, we don't want to merge the artist entries in the MusicBrainz database. The purpose of this page is to record these cases, to prevent moderators from repeatedly attempting incorrect merges, and (perhaps someday) to allow these known cases to be suppressed from the DuplicateArtistsReport and/or MoreDuplicateArtistsReport. (For the DuplicateReleasesReport, there is also a list of NotDuplicateReleases.)

Please always add a note to the ArtistAnnotation of the artists in question that explain why they are not duplicates and also link to this Wiki page for updating.

Entries should be sorted alphabetically by ArtistSortName, and for each set of similar artists that are not the same, there should be a bullet point for the first (in sort order) artist, with the other artist(s) appearing as sub-bullet entries (which should also be sorted alphabetically).

Both types of bullet points should have a link to the MusicBrainz artist page. Inline comments should be part of the bullet points, after the artist link. A blank line before each new bullet (but not sub-bullet) improves readability.

For now, use the URL form ( http://www.musicbrainz.org/showartist.html?artistid=36481) rather than the PermanentLink form ( http://www.musicbrainz.org/artist/cc6fed9a-a14b-46e1-a5b0-97f740e66e6a.html); if it turns out to be easier to process the latter form, we can easily convert the entries later on.
